Pebbles & Bam Bam

Our rescue was tagged in a Facebook post about horses and other animals urgently needing homes due to a nearby property owner losing their farm. Pebbles and Bam Bam were free-roaming goats on a 20-acre property, but had less than 2 months to find a new home. Although we are a horse rescue, if we can give someone a home, we will. We headed out to meet them and a few of the many, many, other animals the owner needed to find homes for. We fell in love with them immediately. They were friendly, loved to be pet, and followed us around like puppies. We looked at several of the other animals on the property, but for safety reasons, we were unable to give them a home, but connected the property owner with other rescues and families willing to take them.

After the initial visit, within 3 days we put together a shelter and run for them and brought them back to the ranch. We suspect they had never seen a vet or had their hooves trimmed. They loved their new straw-filled, fully enclosed shelter. They love exploring the ranch, eating blackberry bushes, and everything else in sight!

Both goats saw a vet, a farrier, and got all their vaccines and worming up to date. Now, it was time to meet the horses up close! We had kept a distance between them until a vet could check them out. Success! The horses loved their new buddies and enjoy watching them play.

Its been 4 months and the goats feel like they’ve been part of our family forever. Everyone loves them and they are so sweet (and entertaining to watch)!
